Bendel Insurance Football Club, Monday evening recorded our first away victory in far away Ilorin, Kwara State after beating Katsina Utd 1-0 in the Match Day 16 of the Nigeria Premier Football League.

Elmer Arunta scored the only goal of the match and his debut goal for us, the Benin Arsenals, in the 72nd minute as a reward for our dominance in the encounter at the Kwara Sports Complex in Ilorin.

The Coach Kennedy Boboye–managed squad showed our determination to fight our way out of the relegation zone as we took the battle to the gate of the host team with dominant display from the start to the end of the game.

The hosts were lucky to escape our humiliation at home as the several scoring chances created by us were missed by our strikers who were too in a hurry to bury their football adversaries.

Elmer Arunta’s 72nd-minute goal, aside handing us our first away victory in the current season, also lifted us out of the relegation zone. We were 19th on the table with 16 points before the Match Day 16 clash with Katsina Utd who occupied 11th position with 21 points. We have now moved up to 15th position on the log.

Our manager Kennedy Boboye had expressed his optimism after thrashing Wikki Tourists 3-0 in Benin last week that a back-to-back victory was possible.

Boboye will be leading us back home with confidence ahead of our home game in the NPFL MD.17 against Rangers International of Enugu. The match is scheduled to hold on Saturday, December 13, 2025 in Benin. Kickoff time is 4pm. Another victory on Saturday, December 13 is enough to land us in a comfortable position before the Christmas holidays.
