Bendel Insurance FC is excited to confirm our participation in the upcoming Governor Douye Diri Preseason Football Tournament, set to take place in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The tournament is scheduled to kick off on Monday, August 12, 2024, and will run until August 18, 2024, at the Samson Siasia Stadium.
In a letter of response to the tournament organizers, signed by our Secretary, Charles Ihimekpen, on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, we expressed our enthusiasm for this valuable preseason opportunity. This tournament provides an ideal platform for Coach Monday Odigie and the Bendel Insurance FC squad to test and integrate our blend of experienced players and new signings ahead of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League season, which kicks off on August 31, 2024.
“We view this eight-team tournament as a crucial opportunity to assess and blend our squad in preparation for the upcoming season,” said Ihimekpen. “The presence of top-flight clubs will provide us with a strong competitive environment to evaluate our team’s readiness.”
The participating teams include Kwara United, Sunshine Stars, Warri Wolves, Akwa United, Bayelsa United, Rivers United, Abia Warriors, and 2023 Bayelsa State Federation champions Krusaders Feeders FC, alongside Bendel Insurance FC.
