It was an easy ride for us at Bendel Insurance Football Club on Match Day 15 of the Nigeria Premier Football League, as we comfortably dispatched Wikki Tourists 3–0 in Benin to record our third victory of the 2025/26 season.
We took charge early, with Chinedu Nwosu opening the scoring for us just 14 minutes into a match that truly lived up to its billing at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

We sustained the tempo throughout the highly tactical battle and went into halftime with Nwosu’s breakthrough goal giving us the advantage over the visitors.
Returning from the break, our head coach Kennedy Boboye made a quick and decisive tactical switch, substituting Adamu Yazid and Israel Emmanuel for Nnamdi Anthony and Onyeuche Ujunwa. The adjustment paid off almost immediately. Just two minutes into the second half, in the 47th minute, our daring winger Emmanuel Dung doubled our lead, finishing off a brilliant through pass from substitute Onyeuche Ujunwa.

In the 58th minute of what was an entertaining clash, Emmanuel Akpan, who scored his debut goal for us against Kano Pillars two weeks earlier, struck again. He capitalized on Henry Onyian’s long throw after Wikki’s defenders failed to clear properly, making it 3–0 for the Benin Arsenals.
Coming off a solid away point against Abia Warriors on Sunday, November 23, 2025, we now turn our attention to a trip to face Katsina United in our Match Day 16 fixture next week.
This resounding home victory marks our third maximum points of the season and signals a steady recovery for us at Bendel Insurance, as we continue to fight our way up from the lower end of the table since the league kicked off.
With this win, we now sit at 16 points and stand a strong chance of climbing out of the red zone after Sunday’s fixtures.

Speaking during the post-match media conference, Coach Boboye expressed his appreciation to the team for stepping up:
“We have played good football against some teams that are not as tactical as Wikki, yet we couldn’t convert our chances. If we had converted our chances against Abia Warriors, we would have returned with 3 points. I am happy that we got it right, especially playing against a coach that knows what he is doing, like Maikaba.”
In his reaction, Wikki Tourists’ coach Abdul Maikaba congratulated our manager Kennedy Boboye for the impressive victory, attributing his team’s heavy loss to injuries suffered by key players.
