Bendel Insurance Feeders has made us proud with their outstanding performance in the 2024 NYML/NLO Youth League. On Friday, they triumphed over De Cordial Sports Club with a decisive 3-0 victory, securing the sole ticket from the South-South zone, Bayelsa Center, to qualify for NLO1.
The second-half goals by Meelubari Saturday (52nd and 67th minutes) and midfield maestro Ini-Obong (59th minute) were instrumental in overcoming a resilient De Cordial SC. This win was particularly significant as it came despite a strong challenge from Morak FC, who also finished with 13 points. The walkover against Dolphins Academy, who did not show up for the final match at the Samson Siasia Stadium, further cemented our place at the top.
With a final tally of 13 points and 17 goals, Insurance Feeders led the Bayelsa center, outscoring Morak FC, who ended with the same points but 15 goals. Our path to victory included a 2-2 draw against Morak FC, a 3-0 win over Dolphins Academy, a resounding 5-1 victory over Junosa, and a 4-0 thrashing of Benedi FC before the decisive 3-0 win against De Cordial SC.
Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Olympian Yussuf Alli, praised the team’s commitment, character, and spirit throughout the competition. Attending the final match in Yenagoa, Alli expressed his satisfaction with the performance of Coach Stanley Osazee and his team.
“I have been supporting my boys from afar and was encouraged to see their performance up close today. Their dedication and the ticket to NLO1 are commendable. We will continue to support them as they develop and grow into the senior team,” Alli stated.
Congratulations to Bendel Insurance Feeders for a remarkable achievement and best of luck as they advance to NLO1!
